The Department of International Economics, Government and Business is looking to hire a Student Assistent for a research project with focus on Japanese global investment activities in hydrogen-related technologies

About the Department
The Department of International Economics, Government and Business (EGB) at Copenhagen Business School conducts research across two principal focus areas: ‘Business and Government’ and ‘International Business’. The department is rooted in the disciplines of political science, political economy, international economics, international management, and the intersections between them.

About the Project
The student assistant will support an ongoing research project on Japanese global investment activities in hydrogen-related technologies. The candidate will work under the supervision of Professor MSO Björn Jindra and Assistant Professor Peter Popovic (EGB), with the research team also including Associate Professor Hide-Fumi Yokoo (Hitotsubashi University).

The position involves the following tasks:
1. Extending an existing database on Japanese investment in hydrogen-related projects
2. Integrating firm- and transaction-level investment data across different databases within validated corporate ownership structures
3. Identifying validated modes of entry for international investment
4. Conducting small coding or web-scraping tasks
5. Producing methodological documentation
6. Conducting descriptive analysis

Requirements for experience/qualifications and personal skills
Required:
* Active enrolment at a higher education institution
* University-level English proficiency
* Intermediate-level Japanese language proficiency
* Basic knwoledge of statistics
Desired:
* Experience with Excel and firm- or transaction-level databases (e.g. Bureau van Dijk, Crunchbase, Prequin, or similar)
* Background in economics, political science, international business, area studies, or a related field
* High precision, reliability, and attention to detail

Salary and terms of employment
Employment takes place in accordance with the HK organisational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Publicly Employed Organisations (OAO-S Collective Agreement).

The salary currently ranges between DKK 142,98 and DKK 149,99 per hour and is dependent on previous employment in the office profession and level of education. The pension contribution amounts to 16% of the pensionable salary components.

It is a prerequisite for employment that you are an active student at a higher educational institution.

The employment is time-limited for the period from 01.07.2026-29.02.2027.
