We are looking for a student assistant who is a native speaker of Croatian who can do short-term, desk-based background research.

The job will consist of assisting Dr. Robin Smith find newspaper, journal articles, and other materials about the past activities of the agribusiness conglomerate, AgroKor, and writing brief synopses of them in English. This will contribute to the literature review and background for a deliverable on Dr. Smith’s Marie Curie project, Tax evasion for market control: Predatory economies in practice.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Croatian (or adjacent language).
  • Ability to work independently and professionally with the task at hand.
  • Able to organize material for others to use and understand.
  • Eager to contribute to the understanding of corruption and political networks in Croatia.

Payment and hire
Employment will take place according to the HK organization agreement and the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations (OAO-S Joint Agreement).

The salary is between DKK 132,24 to DKK 138,72 and depends on previous employment within the office subject and level of education. A pension is paid if you have had 9 months’ prior employment in the public sector or if you have previously been covered by an occupational pension. The pension contribution amounts to 11,19 % of the pensionable salary components.

It is a prerequisite for employment that the candidate is an active student.

The job will require approx. 4 hours a week for 5 weeks and will be remunerated according to the price per hour established by the university.

Start date: as soon as is possible, but negotiable.
