Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant position for a Teaching Associate Professor the Department of Economics.

Department of Economics provides research, teaching, and knowledge transfer within the core areas of economics, i.e., microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods. The department is especially active in business-related economic research, and hosts three research centres: Pension Research Centre (PeRCent), Centre for Innovation (CFI), and Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure (CSEI). Core educational areas of the Department of Economics are (1) economics courses (2) quantitative courses. It is the ambition of the Department to deliver teaching at a high level based on both theoretical and empirical research. The department also makes sure that its teachers will develop their teaching skills and pedagogical competences on a continuous basis.

The Teaching Associate Professorship is permanent position with teaching obligations.

Teaching responsibilities of the Department comprise undergraduate and graduate teaching in microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods and supervision of students and assistant professors. Also, we engage in teaching of PhD and MBA courses in economics and quantitative methods.

To fulfill the requirements of the position, the applicant chosen must be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching activities of the Department as well as in shared personnel meetings on the department’s development and strategy.

You will independently organize and complete teaching courses in areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods as well as organize and conduct related exams. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to the continued development of technology-enhanced teaching in these and adjacent areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the tasks of the position as agreed with the head of department and the teaching coordinator. Tasks are assigned on a dynamic basis and in a dialogue with the teacher given the needs of the department.
  • Keep up to date regarding the development in areas relevant to the teaching.
  • Take part in the continuous pedagogical development initiatives of the department.

In addition to teaching assignments and other academic development tasks, the position may include supervision and supervision of teaching assistant professors.

Qualifications
  1. Advanced degree in a relevant academic field (at least a master’s degree and preferably a PhD degree).
  2. Substantial teaching experience from universities or business schools in economics and quantitative topics.
  3. Documented teaching qualifications or other material for the evaluation of the applicant’s pedagogical level.
  4. Proficiency in both Danish and English (teaching level) cf. the teaching must be conducted in both Danish and English.
  5. Publication of teaching material (teaching cases, contributions to textbooks etc.) is an advantage.

Terms of employment
Salary, pension, and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

The position is covered by the "Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities" of 2020.

Recruitment procedure
The Recruitment Committee will shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by the Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.

The applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment.

Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
