You will join our Port, Marine and Coastal Engineering department

As our new Senior Port and Marine Engineer, you will join a highly recognized marine team, with excellent collaboration with contractors, port owners and renewable developers worldwide. You will be part of a diverse international department at Ramboll global headquarters in Copenhagen, and work on major marine projects across all stages from planning to detailed design together with our team of highly engaged and specialized engineers.

We have a strong pipeline of national and international marine projects with a determined focus to make the marine world future -fit.
Currently we are leading several major port projects in Europe and overseas, ensuring the green energy transition and blue infrastructure, such as the port facilities for Europe larges Carbon Capture project, the marine logistics for the North Sea Energy Island, port planning for Baltic, US and Australian OWF industry and detailed design of Genova Port extension and Gdansk Terminal..

Our department works with a broad spectrum of marine projects, from feasibility studies, Port Master planning, to detailed design and supervision. Our team is well balanced between senior experts, project managers, specialists and newly graduates. You will receive a warm welcome of co-workers passionate about their field of expertise. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Drive the development and innovation of our structural engineering skill set
  • Take responsibility for technical project delivery as discipline lead/design manager
  • Manage marine projects
  • Maintain the highest level of quality in our deliverables
  • Promote our capabilities in the market
  • Co-create closely with clients, academia and stakeholders, focusing on value creation and sustainable design
  • Act as role model for our younger team members

Your starting point for constant growth

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar)
  • +8 years proven experience in the design of marine structures, such as quay, jetty, and berthing structures, pile decks, caissons, block walls, dolphins ect.
  • Knowledge about port equipment, mooring systems, and navigation
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant design codes and design methodology
  • Large experience with complex multidisciplinary marine projects, such as ports, flood defences, artificial island or immersed tunnels
  • Great communication skills - English at a professional level.
  • You thrive in a dynamic work environment with many stakeholders
  • Sustainability is in your mindset, and you actively want to investigate and apply green solution

Your skillset is respected in the market and you have built up a valuable network, enabling you to understand client’s needs and market trends.

Personal qualities, that will help you succeed in this role include an open mindset and the ability to both work independently and as a team player.
You are a confident communicator and enjoy to push the innovation and technical excellence to the next level as well as motivating younger engineers and onboard them on the marine engineering journey.
