Join the Department of Marketing as a postdoc researcher focused on political and tourism coolness studies

The Department of Marketing invites applications for a vacant position as post doc starting on 1st January 2025 or later. The position is limited to 12 months, yet, an extension is possible on mutual agreement. The successful applicant will be part of a research team led by Prof. Florian Kock and funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.

The main responsibility of the post doc will be to conduct two research projects under the supervision of Florian Kock. The targets of these two projects are the publication in internationally recognized journals and the dissemination of knowledge to relevant stakeholders. The two topics are:

  • The role of coolness in politics, with a focus on voting behavior end election results, and images of politicians and political parties.
  • The role of coolness in tourism, with a focus on coolness perceptions across different cultures.

Candidates need to hold a Ph.D. or be close to completion, ideally from an accredited institution. They should be trained in one of the following research fields, with a focus on attitude and behavior research: politics, tourism and hospitality, or marketing. Moreover, candidates need to demonstrate expertise in quantitative research methods, with a focus on questionnaire-based and experimental research designs. Preferably, candidates are also familiar with conjoint analyses.

Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Central Academic Organization. A regular presence at the Department of Marketing is expected.

  6. Documentation of teaching qualifications, teaching evaluations (please state the level of each course), and other relevant material for the evaluation of the candidate’s pedagogical level. Candidates should list the areas that they can and will teach.

Recruitment procedure

The Recruitment Committee will shortlist a minimum of two applicants; if possible, five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by an Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline. The applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment. Once the recruitment process is completed, applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
