Join our dynamic team at Phase4CPH as a researcher in medical studies

dato

We are looking for a new colleague to join us at the Copenhagen Phase IV Unit (Phase4CPH), where we conduct medical studies that bridge epidemiology, data science, clinical sciences, and pharmacology. Our unit, located at Frederiksberg Hospital, is a collaboration between the Center for Clinical Research and Prevention (CCRP) and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Bispebjerg Hospital. We are a team of 10 employees with diverse professional backgrounds, and we collaborate closely with colleagues from CCRP, clinical specialists, and partners in the pharmaceutical industry.

About Phase4CPH

Phase4CPH operates in a unique scientific and strategic position at the intersection of the public hospital sector (Capital Region), academia, and the pharmaceutical industry. While much of our work is carried out in collaboration with industry partners, we place strong emphasis on initiating our own independent studies as well as studies in collaboration with clinicians.

We have a broad project portfolio, from drug or healthcare utilisation studies to drug safety and effectiveness studies, some of which involve regulatory agencies such as the EMA or the FDA.

We primarily work with data from the Danish national health registries, but we also have access to large population-based surveys. Some of our projects involve partnerships across Scandinavia and Europe, with access to their data.

We are committed to maintaining a strong focus on scientific integrity and high professional standards, remaining critical of methodological decisions to ensure the most credible and useful results.

In most cases, Phase4CPH leads the development of study protocols, with results delivered as reports to collaborating companies or health authorities. Importantly, all collaboration agreements require that findings are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, ensuring transparency and wide dissemination.

Your tasks will be:

  • designing new studies, writing protocols, and applying for data access
  • analysis and data management of various research projects, mainly registry-based studies
  • writing and publishing scientific articles in collaboration with colleagues and external partners
  • writing and submitting reports
  • project management
  • side-by-side training and guidance of colleagues in the management, analysis and interpretation of data.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to teach, present our research, supervise student projects, and pursue academic development by participating in study groups, courses, and conferences.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced researcher. We expect you to be able to tick off most of the following requirements:

  • relevant educational background, e.g. public health, medicine, pharmaceutics, economics, statistics, or equivalent,
  • research experience equivalent to a PhD degree, and ideally 5+ years of research,
  • experience in writing scientific articles,
  • knowledge of (pharmaco)epidemiological methods,
  • knowledge of clinical pharmacology,
  • an interest in participating in strategic considerations with external partners,
  • experience in working with Danish (and Nordic) healthcare registries,
  • knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, and/or regulatory affairs,
  • well-versed programming skills: we work primarily in SAS, some in R, but other programming languages are relevant as well,
  • a collaborative spirit and demonstrate independence in driving projects forward,
  • fluency in spoken and written Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
