The Department of Accounting at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is seeking a motivated student assistant to join our research team.
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytically minded student to support and contribute to empirical research projects in financial accounting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience with academic research and develop skills that are highly valuable for students considering a research career, a PhD, or analytical positions in consulting, finance, or industry.
You will work closely with researchers on projects addressing important questions in financial reporting, capital markets, corporate disclosure, and related areas.
Your responsibilities
Your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the research projects, but may include:
- Collecting, cleaning, and organizing large-scale financial and accounting data
- Assisting with empirical data analysis and validation of research results
- Conducting literature searches and preparing summaries of academic research
- Supporting the development of research databases and documentation
- Preparing figures, tables, and presentation materials
- Assisting with administrative and practical aspects of ongoing research projects
- Other ad hoc research-related tasks
About you
We are looking for a student who:
- Is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at a university
- Has strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Has an interest in accounting, finance, economics, or related disciplines
- Is comfortable working with data and enjoys solving analytical problems
- Has excellent written and spoken English
- Works independently, is well organized, and pays close attention to detail
- Is eager to learn new methods and software
Experience with statistical software such as Stata, R, Python, or SQL is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The position is expected to average approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility during exam periods.
Salary and terms of employment
Employment takes place in accordance with the HK organisational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Publicly Employed Organisations (OAO-S Collective Agreement). The salary currently ranges between DKK 144.80 and DKK 151.90 per hour and is dependent on previous employment in the office profession and level of education. The pension contribution amounts to 16% of the pensionable salary components.
It is a prerequisite for employment that you are an active student at a higher educational institution.
