Postdoc in Consumer Insights and Sustainability at the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC), Copenhagen Business School, 3-year position

MSC is looking for a Postdoc interested in experimental consumer research to join a large project on sustainable food consumption funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

The position

The postdoc position is part of the research project PlantTip. This project aims to investigate societal tipping points in consumer behaviour in Denmark, with a focus on accelerating the green transition towards a sustainable food system. PlantTip is a joint project of Aarhus University, Copenhagen Business School and Democracy X, and collaborates with, amongst others, the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the chair of International Political Economy and Environmental Politics, ETH Zurich. The interdisciplinary project takes a dual-track approach, combining experimental research (under the lead of CBS) with simulation-based modelling (under the lead of Aarhus University). The two tracks will closely feed into each other: the experimental consumer research track will provide valuable behavioural data to validate and refine the agent-based models (ABM), while the ABM track will focus on identifying key areas of investigation and inform the design of experiments.

The postdoc at CBS will be tasked with the design, carrying out and analysis of the experimental consumer research, under the supervision of Associate Professor Meike Janssen. The selected candidate will work closely with the ABM research team at Aarhus University. In addition, the postdoc might be involved in other collaborative research projects on related topics and contribute to the acquisition of new grants.

We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong affinity to working at the intersection between consumer behaviour, food policy and food marketing. We invite interested candidates from marketing, psychology, economics, and food sciences to apply but also candidates from other disciplines are encouraged to apply.

The Postdoc position is a non-tenured position for a period of 3 years. To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the selected candidate is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the research activities at the Department and the Consumer & Behavioural Insights Group.
